Management stewards the Trust’s investments, fosters strong collaborative relationships with communities, and operates a nimble and cost-effective approach to funding initiatives throughout the region.

Chief Executive Officer

Brodie Guy

Brodie is the CEO of Island Coastal Economic Trust, leading a dedicated team that partners and invests in economic development with coastal communities across Vancouver Island and the surrounding coast.Brodie has served in public and private sector leadership roles focusing on sustainable development and environmental stewardship across British Columbia. He currently serves as the board chair of Comox Valley Project Watershed Society, as a director with the Community Energy Association, and as an advisor for B.C.’s Watershed Security Fund. Previously, Brodie was the CEO of Coast Funds, one of the world’s largest Indigenous-led conservation finance and sustainable development funds. Earlier in his career, he was a member of the start-up team for Northern Development Initiative Trust and was a member of the management team for a Victoria-based clean technology company.Brodie regularly serves in an advisory capacity to government and philanthropic organizations across Canada and the United States and has been recognized as one of the most influential people in business in B.C. Brodie holds a chartered director designation from McMaster University and a BCom from the University of Victoria.

Manager, Programs & Corporate Affairs

Denice Regnier

Denice has been a valuable member of the Trust administration team since 2008. She is responsible for corporate administration as well as board and Regional Advisory Committee relations and activities. She also manages the development, implementation and monitoring of all Trust funding programs. She is the key point of contact for applicants and stakeholders and provides one-on-one support, from the application process through implementation and reimbursement. Denice is a graduate of the University of Toronto and holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, a diploma in community work and development, as well as a certificate in policy and governance from the University of Victoria. She has extensive experience in the administration of organizations and projects, including work at a large public interest environmental law organization. She has served as a director and has been involved with a number of education- and arts-related organizations in the Comox Valley.

Manager, Communications & Impact

Kyle Wells

Kyle is a communications professional with over 15 years of experience in journalism and non-profit communications. He started his career as a community newspaper reporter, first in Powell River and then in Victoria’s Westshore. From there, Kyle worked as a communications specialist for the Royal BC Museum, before spending six years with The Victoria Foundation. He then worked as a communications consultant, specializing in helping non-profit organizations share their remarkable stories. Kyle joined the Trust in September 2025. Kyle holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of King’s College in Halifax. He is on the board of directors for the Comox Valley International Film Festival and is a regular volunteer with the Cumberland Museum & Archives. Kyle resides in Cumberland.

Chief Financial Officer

Donna Cloutier

Donna Cloutier was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Island Coastal Economic Trust in 2013. She is responsible for the overall financial management of the organization, including budgeting, audit oversight, financial reporting and transparency, monitoring investments, as well as long-range financial planning. Donna is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a diverse financial and business background. She has worked as the financial comptroller of a publicly traded company and is currently a partner at Cloutier Matthews Chartered Professional Accountants. Prior to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant, Donna was a meteorological technician with the Canadian Armed Forces. Donna is very active with a number of non-profit organizations in the Comox Valley, having served on the boards of the North Island College Foundation and the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce. She is currently the president of the Courtenay Rotary Club. She makes the most of the active outdoor lifestyle afforded by the Comox Valley.

Indigenous Advisor

Ashley Wright

Ashley Wright is a proud member of the K’ómoks First Nation who grew up in the Comox Valley. She pursued post-secondary studies at Vancouver Island University and UBC’s Sauder School of Business, building a strong foundation in project management and Indigenous governance. Since 2018, Ashley has worked as an independent contractor, supporting First Nations across British Columbia engaged in the B.C. Treaty Process. Her work includes recent efforts with K’ómoks in ratifying their constitution and treaty, and ongoing support to Te’mexw Treaty Association, Metlakatla, Kitselas, and Kitsumkalum. In her role with the Trust, Ashley provides strategic guidance on the Trust's transformation into a permanent, modernized development organization. Her work focuses on building and strengthening relationships with First Nations and providing strategic advice to the Trust. As part of this transformation, Ashley is working closely with the Ministry of Jobs and Economic Growth to help shape changes to the legislation that will enable First Nations to participate directly in the Trust’s governance and decision-making. Her leadership ensures that Indigenous voices, values, and priorities are embedded in the future of economic development for the region.

Accounting Technician

Kati Stroh

Kati has been providing payroll services to the Trust's financial team since 2015. In early 2020, her role was expanded to accounting technician. In this role, she is responsible for processing all payables, payroll, bank and budget reconciliation and supporting the CFO with monthly and annual financial reporting. Kati received her Bachelor of Business Administration from North Island College in 2012. She has worked as a bookkeeper and is currently employed as an accounting technician and controller at Cloutier Matthews LLP. Kati is originally from Prince Rupert. She enjoys the Comox Valley’s outdoor lifestyle and is an avid international and national traveller.
